Glen to Retire

After nine years on staff managing our finances and building, our Glen Moore has decided to retire. Glen was hired by Pastor Charla after decades in the mission field of South Africa. He has been a brilliant partner in ministry at Faith and we have all come to rely on him for his wisdom and experience. I have been amazed at his ability to so closely predict the budget and recognize how carefully he stewards the assets of our congregation. We have all tried to talk him out of going but he has promised to stay through the end of the year to help with the closing of the books. At this time we are hiring to try to fill the many roles that he has so faithfully served. Our hope is to hire with some overlap for training as soon as possible. The Leadership Team is planning how to honor him and say thank you.

Rev. Dr. Doug Powe came and worked with the Executive Team for a few hours to help us figure out where hiring for the future needed to be. He helped us clarify the needs and tasks that Glen performs and the roles needed to fulfill them in the future. The Leadership Team also did some long range planning and discussion about staffing for the future. After all of this work, we have decided to hire two roles instead of just one.

First we need a Church Treasurer to manage the finances and any confidential business of the church. This person will need to be familiar with accounting and finance. They will be a part time person and will be in office every Monday to bring in the offering. They will work closely with Jay and be her supervisor. The other role will be a Church Operations person who will primarily be in charge of the building. This role will work with the contractors that we use to upgrade and maintain the facility. They will work with Alex keeping everything running smoothly. We have created two new job descriptions and are currently praying for the right people to serve with our current wonderful staff.
