BIXBY MISSION WEEKEND

You've probably already heard the exciting news through Pastor Heather's recent blog—we've purchased a building in Bixby! I'm still incredibly excited about this wonderful development! But we can't just remain excited. God is calling us to action to experience how God will guide and bless us through this new place.

To begin our journey, we will be having a Mission Weekend on July 11 & 12. We will gather together these two days to transform this building into a welcoming space where people can worship God and serve our neighbors. There’s a lot of work to be done, and we’re starting with these two days.

Our goal is to officially launch this church in August, before the fall semester starts. The schedule might seem a bit tight, but Pastor Heather, trained and experienced as a Church Planter, knows this timing is perfect for promoting a new church. This period, when many people are moving and seeking fresh spiritual beginnings, is ideal!

On Friday, July 11, we'll start working at 10am. Lunch will be provided! On Saturday, July 12, there will be a Men's Breakfast led by Kurt and Jim at the Bixby building, starting at 8am. After energizing ourselves with pancakes, we'll tackle several outdoor tasks before the heat sets in. Lunch will be provided again, and once it gets warmer, we'll move indoors to handle painting and other repairs.

We are preparing a prioritized task list. We will divide into teams that day. Currently planned projects include:

  • Creating and installing a cross in the Bixby Sanctuary identical to the one in our current chapel

  • Replacing the rotted wood on the exterior of the building

  • Repairing or replacing the damaged urinal divider in the men's restroom

  • Cleaning the vent covers

  • Painting various spaces

We’re also looking for volunteers to provide lunch! The church will cover the cost of ingredients!

Anyone is welcome to participate! You don't have to be a skilled worker—there are plenty of tasks anyone can help with! Please come and join us! If you are willing to participate and help refresh our new campus building, please email me at skim@faithtulsa.org.

Anyone curious about our new building is welcome to come, visit, and spend time with us. Come pray and anticipate the wonderful things God will do through this new place!
