Fall Fest

Last year we combined two of our biggest events, Trunk or Treat and the Block Party, into one huge event called Fall Fest. It includes all our favorite things from each of the previous events and at a time when the weather is so much nicer than August. One of the valuable things that we do is feed people for free. Last year we had about seven hundred people participate. It was so many more than we thought it was going to be. I wanted to share with you the Why? Why do we host this festival? And the answer is pretty simple. We want to meet our neighbors. We want to offer a no pressure fun time for families to get to know us in a non-threatening way. Last year when I was walking the neighborhood passing out door hangers, one of our neighbors said “Oh, I love coming to this event every year!” I was so surprised and delighted that this person that I had never met was a person that looked forward to joining us for an evening of fun and community.

In order for us to pull off this evening of delight, we need helpers to make it happen. We have created a sign-up sheet that has 111 volunteer time slots to fill in. None of these commitments last the entire time of the event so you can volunteer and participate both. We even have time slots on Saturday this year for young parents to help but also be free on Sunday to watch over their kids.

Have you been thinking about inviting someone to visit Faith? If so, this is a great way to introduce us to them. They can enjoy the community without the uncertainty about worship pressure. We want to get to know all of our neighbors. So I encourage you to invite a family or a single friend to come and play with us for Fall Fest this year. This is one of my favorite nights of the year because my only task is to get the story out to those who will hear. So, please, share it with everyone you know that they are welcome to enjoy the Fall Fest, 20025.

I hope to see you on Sunday.

I love you and God loves you,
