Social Media Team
Recently a group of church members paid visits to the mega churches in our area to discuss things that they are doing to increase membership and attract new people. This was an exploratory mission to see if there were any gaps in what we do here at Faith. One of the things that they all had in common was their social media presence. Faith has never felt the need to brag about what we do because we do it as a loving response to Jesus. It is not about getting noticed. We also do not do television invites because we have been overwhelmed in the past with attendance that left everyone having a poor experience. But it has been argued that if a person is looking for a place in which to engage the community and love each other well, then we aren’t making them aware that we exist.
The Leadership Team discussed this in length and agreed that we could share the things that we do better. We do not have a staff person whose job it is to do this and it is difficult for one person to be present at everything we do. We have decided to create a Social Media Team. These folks would be trained by the team leader and work with the staff. These celebratory items would then be scheduled to be shared on social media. The team leader would work with Jonathon and our marketing schedule to plan about six weeks out at a time.
Our goal for this content is celebratory. We want to share how wonderful things are that we have participated in and lead. It gives us the opportunity to educate about who we are and the things that matter to us. We can create a presence that we do not currently have and invite people in a safe way to join us. We currently have a Facebook page that is very active. Our YouTube page also has lots of subscribers but content for both of these is connecting folks to our worship services online. We have an Instagram page but do not use it and we have never had a Tik Tok page. Both Sierra T. and Addie C. from the Leadership Team have agreed to serve but we need a few more. If you are willing to be on this team, please contact Sierra (from the church directory) and let her know that you are willing to help.
Another thing that was on the list was creating spaces for people to gather and visit. You may have noticed the new tall tables in the hallway for Easter. These are staying and we hope you will enjoy them as you share life together.
Have a great week! I love you,
