Title: Back to the Basics
Text:
Matthew 22:34-40

Is there a sport you play from the sidelines? Every single one I can think of requires you to get in the game. You've got to be on the field to play. Title: Touchstones: Who Made a Difference?
Text:
Acts 9:26-28
As you read this passage of scripture, consider what Barnabas gave to Paul. He invested in someone everyone else was afraid of. He believed in Paul and made it possible for Paul to get a hearing in front of the other apostles. For all of us, there are always people who pave the way...invest in key times, create connection for us with others, and pray us into our next phase. Who are these people in your life? Who can you be this person for right now?

Happy 11 a.m. | Anger and Forgiveness

Title: Anger and Forgiveness
Text: Readings from the Proverbs—

Fools show their anger at once, but the prudent ignore an insult. (12:16)
Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but one who has a hasty temper exalts folly. (14:29)
One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city. (16:32)
Those with good sense are slow to anger, and it is their glory to overlook an offense. (19:11)

As the series continues, we address the assets and liabilities in relationships. Last week, we discovered that true happiness is directly related to the health of our relationships with God, with others and with ourselves. Anger and forgiveness are barriers we all experience in relationships, so we'll address these barriers and invest in better relationships.

God's Face in the Mirror | The Veil Is Removed

Title: The Veil is Removed
Text:
2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2

“Before we can become who we really are, we must become conscious of the fact that that person who we think we are, here and now, is at best an imposter and a stranger.” -- Thomas Merton

All of us have been created in the image of God, and we all fall short of truly reflecting the divine within. The journey to self-awareness leads us deeper into our life of faith because the more we know ourselves, the more we see God's face in the mirror.
