Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by sharing God's love one person at a time.
The Missions Committee of Faith United Methodist Church is committed to following the Values of our Church. Faith at Work states: “Everyone has a gift to share and can discover a call to mission and service.”
Opportunities are available for all ages of our congregation and are not just limited to the Tulsa area.
· Faithful Kids purchased boards for a Habitat for Humanity House
· Adult Sunday school classes feed the homeless each month
· Members travel to the Gulf Coast regions to assist hurricane victims.
· Primetimers spend a week at Cookson Hills Methodist Mission doing maintenance and repairs.
· Members partner with local United Methodist Churches to travel nationally and internationally
for medical and construction missions.
Local MissionsTulsa is a thriving metropolitan area in northeastern Oklahoma. Like many other communities its size, part of the population occasionally needs a little help. Faith UMC provides support in many ways from manual labor to monetary donations to providing meals to reading to children to clothing donations to programs for needy children. Faith UMC works closely with many local organizations including Restore Hope, Project Transformation, Pearl’s Hope, Exodus House, New Life Home, Laura Dester Youth Shelter, and the Day Center for the Homeless.

State & National Missions
There are many needs closer to home. Faith has responded when necessary to help the Gulf Coast region after hurricanes and to the Plain States after flood disasters. Faith Missions also works closely with the Osage County DHS, Cookson Hills Methodist Mission, Boy’s Ranch and the Tahlequah Girl’s Home. Faith prides itself on being able to quickly assemble teams when the cry for help has been made.
Since the 1990s, Faith has actively participated in many international mission trips, sending teams to Russia, Mexico, China, Cuba, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. We are striving to make a Christian difference in the world by sharing God’s love one person at a time. Mission teams have been sent for both medical and construction needs in these countries. Teams also work to meet the educational needs of the children of foreign countries.
Throughout the year, additional needs arise and through the Missions Committee and individual church members, we respond to those needs. One church member often provides hearing screenings. Another church member regularly offers minor car repair. In 2009 and 2011, Faith UMC had the chance to help build a house with Habitat for Humanity. Faith UMC also responded to the community’s concerns about the H1N1 flu virus by hosting a flu shot clinic.
